Nix sat very quietly in the corner of the little tea shop. She had a small slice of chocolate cake out in front of her with a small fork in it and she had a small cup beside her. It had a small dent in the side of the cream atop it but she hadn't drunk any of it, she was too depressed. She hated coming to this shop because of all the couples but she loved the cake and drinks so she had to come, sort of. She always found herself wishing she had someone of her own to come to the shop with but she didn't, Who on earth would happily chose to date her?

Blake entered the small cafe, the ambiance near silent with many couples hooked at the mouth. He had decided here would have been the best place to brush up on his studies. An owl with his marks had just reached home, and neither his mum nor dad were pleased in the slightest. Of course, his most dreaded subject had been DADA, the book practically burning under his arm. It wasn't unlike him to attempt a distraction as he ordered a coffee, scanning the quiet shop for anyone familiar who wasn't busy.
His eyes landed on the red-head with eyes he couldn't have forgotten. He smiled, realizing she had been one of his targets, although she stuck out more than many others had. It had to be the eyes. He approached her, setting his coffee and book down. "Is this seat taken?" He set his most charming smile on, not about to sit alone in this couple ridden place. He would not accept that at all.

Nix gave a small scowl as someone opened the door and she curled herself tighter and pulled her arms round herself, she hated to be seen here alone but she love the food so she'd always lose that battle. She heard a thud come from behind her and turned to see s couple who had slipped from their chairs but not broken their face lock and she gave a small sigh and turned back to her cake only to see someone standing beside her table. Her eyes narrowed as she remember the boy from his recent try with her in a corridor where she'd ended up deadly confused about him and the point of how and why he could ever like her. "your date not show?" she said in a stiff voice as she picked her fork up and jabbed at her chocolate cake before her

Blake was slightly stunned that the girl had remained so hostile, but he shrugged, flopping down in the chair across from her. He took a long sip of the coffee, watching her over the white rim as he gaged her reaction. It may be more fight than it was worth, to sit with the fiery girl for appearance sake, but nowhere else was it quiet enough to really concentrate on the material. Perhaps the girl might actually have some sort of knack or talent for the Defense against the Dark Arts. He set the cup down, grinning despite the harsh words.
"Sure has. Gives me more time with this pretty little textbook," he stroked the spine of the book he so resented. It wasn't often that Blake was made to a fool, and yet every bit of content within that booked made the impossible possible. "So I might as well keep your dates seat warm until he shows," he grinned at her, flipping open the book. Just one glance at the page and the laid back boy was already irritated.

Nix couldn't help but laugh at the boys face, it just fell as he opened his text book and nix found it so funny. Of course if his date hadn't shown then it made sense thar he'd look for a new open but the comments of his book and his clear dislike for which ever class it was actually made nix curios. "what book is it?" she asked before rolled her eyes at his next comment and wishing she could take her words back. "yea, he'll be here some time soon, I've only been waiting about 3 years" she said with her normal sharp tone back again as she stabbed at her cake again with her fork

Blake was glad to take the girl's stiff whip of the tongue over the boring humiliation within the pages before him. He crossed his arms, leaning back in his chair as he took her in. Of course, he could understand her now. The one who was too timid to make advances on a boy, and waited for a Prince to sweep her away. He smirked slightly, running a hand through his hair. "Well, sometimes you have to go to the Palace and find your Prince yourself, love," he winked. He wasn't going to let her get him down. Truth be told, he found her stubborn ways quite amusing, giving some entertainment to his summer days.
Truthfully, he'd fallen into a bloody rut. It was wretched. Everyday he awoke, went for a run, worked double shifts, and studied this damned subject. Samara had barely had time for him since school let out, and it was maddening. The summer was providing little to no entertainment for the man, and it was his last. "And it's Defense Against the Dark Arts," he added, closing the book. Today was his day free of humiliation.

Nix felt a small snarl try escape her at the boys comment but it was stifled at his comment of the book he had open, "wait, your no good at DADA?" she said with a growing smirk. She had never been one for school and classes but she had gotten an O in DADA and Transfigration for her OWLs and then had E's in every other class side potions where she'd only gotten a P. She gave a small chuckle and then her lighter side took over and she twisted her head to try to read the page the boy had open, "what are you stuck on? DADA is my best class so provided you buy me some more chocolate cake, I may be able to help" she said as she nodded downtown her final bit of cake left on her plate
